Position Work Location: 160 Conemaugh Street, Blairsville, PA 15717 (Indiana County)

Position Type: 12 Week Internship Program Position

Typical Work Hours Per Week: Part-Time: 9-12 hours a week (depending on required scheduled work to be done that particular week)

Typical Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (maybe Thursday, but flexible)

Typical Work Hours: Day Time: 3 PM to 6 PM (Possibly to 7 PM, but flexible)

Starting Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour

Pay Rate Increases: None

Job Description:

  • Enter & verify accuracy of hours & payroll information given by client
  • Print paychecks, create & upload direct deposit files
  • Print reports, scan & encrypt reports, e-mail clients
  • Make weekly tax deposits
  • Prepare quarterly tax returns to federal, state & local authorities
  • Create & file new hire reports with state
  • Prepare report for clients’ workers comp audits
 

Job Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Able to learn and work with: MS Windows 11, Excel, Word, QuickBooks, Proprietary Payroll Software, Thunderbird, Chrome Internet
  • Must pay attention to any and all details
  • Able to follow written working procedures & is encouraged to make suggestions for any improvements
  • Able to concentrate & work in a clean and quiet office setting, music or TV playing in the background is strictly prohibited, concentration is key.
  • Must be willing to continuously learn certain aspects of payroll including but not limited to:
    • Payroll wages & incomes types such as tips, salaries, bonuses, minimum wages, commissions
    • Payroll tax withholdings & expenses on a federal, state & local levels
    • Employee & company retirement contributions such as: 401(k), Simple IRA
    • Health insurance deductions and plans such as: medical, vision, dental, Aflac, life, AD&D, LTD
    • Employee garnishments such as child support, student loans
    • Federal & state wage & hour rules & regulations regarding: overtime, exempt vs. non-exempt employees, 1099 sub-contractor vs. w-2 employee
    • Accounting general ledger account changes when payroll is recorded 
 

Required Education Level: High School Junior or Senior Year

Required Previous Work Experience: None

Pre-Interview Qualifications: None

Required Dress Code: Business / School Casual

Cell Phone Use Policy: Personal cell phone use while inside work area is strictly prohibited at all times.

Smoking Policy: Smoking is strictly prohibited on all premises of the office property (inside & outside)

Payroll Policy: Paid weekly on Friday’s

Probationary Period Policy: Not Applicable
